I originally borrowed this game from my friend Matthew, or more accurately, his sister, in February of this year where I played a few games with Matthew and got quite a lot of achievements off the bat, but more importantly, I really enjoyed the game, but never got around to completing it. With Matthew going to South-Africa for 6 weeks I re-borrowed the game with the aim of completing it and having a good game with Lee too, however I always thought the Associate Producer (30 questions in a row without answering incorrectly) and Producer (60 questions in a row without answering incorrectly), but last night I managed both quite effortlessly – twice in fact, unfortunately the first time I answered question 67 wrong thinking it wouldn’t matter having that I’d answered 60 in a row, it did, so I had to play again which was disappointing, but it was still enjoyable.
I’ve always enjoyed movies and have watched a lot of them throughout my lifetime although more so in the past than within the last 5 or so years where I have watched a lot less. I think I now have a much larger preference for watching TV shows which I watch religiously, but I do have quite a good knowledge of movies and as a result a lot of this game was quite straight forward.
The issue, when it came to getting 1000/1000 achievement points from Scene-It? was always the consecutive answers and the chances of having the anagram questions pop up, and they did, but they were actually pretty obvious – perhaps with sleepy eyes I actual gained some unique Rain Man-esque abilities to just see things.
Today I finally got the horror, documentary and 60′s questions wrapped up and I’m feeling quite chuffed with myself for managing to get the full 1000 points available. I’m now eagerly awaiting the second edition of this game and I am really hoping that in the future they release one based around Television shows as they are a guilty pleasure of mine – in fact you can see a new page over on the right with a list of the TV Shows that I own on DVD, all of which are legitimate, authentic releases.
I would definitely recommend the game to people, it’s a great party game or a good time filler if you’re on your own, but you must like your movies. There is a new Buzz game out now too on the Playstation 3 and if I had some money I’d think about picking that up too.
