Personally I think it’s looking great. I remember talking with my friend Matthew around 4 years ago about what games need making into movies and Max Payne (and Max Payne 2 for that matter) both being in my Top 5 games of all time made my list.
When asked who I would have play Max Payne I remember saying “Mark Wahlberg”, so it’s excellent that he’s been chosen and straight away his voice is perfect, his image is spot on and we know Mark Wahlberg can bring that dark atmosphere this movie needs and judging from his past movies we know he can act with a gun too, so he could be brilliant in the role. Now we just need the movie to not be too ‘Hollywoodized’ like so many other game-to-movie conversions, the Max Payne story is already brilliant and doesn’t need changing, it needs the darkness, the drugs, the blood and the violence in there, it’s all an intrinsic part of the Max Payne world.
Going this gritty, dark was has worked for the latest Batman movies and if done right Max Payne could be right up there alongside Batman as a great movie too.

Got to admit, I’m not a fan of game to movie conversions and mostly ignore and then mock them. However that trailer looks quite faithful to the game. I just hope they don’t screw it up. Not a fan of Whalburg either tbh.
If you get the chance, watch ‘The Big Hit’, it’s a comedy movie with Mark Wahlberg where he’s a Hitman, it’s absolutely brilliant and I’m sure you could pick it up cheap – I think it’s even on HD-DVD.
Yeah, i can’t stand Wahlberg. Don’t think he has any acting ability. He plays the same character in almost every film and im sure he has it written into his contract that he can take his shirt off.
Saying that, The Big Hit was shit hot!
Holy Crap that looks good, And I agree I think Mark Wahlberg is perfect for this. You see Rockstar? he was in that, and I loved that movie. Anyways, To be honest I didnt even realise the movie was in the making, but considering the trailer is out already. It must be made or pretty much finished. Any idea of a release date? I guess I could do some googling lol.
Thought you’d have a 5 page Batman review up by now. Your clientele will not be pleased!
