We did it! We are in the final of the European Cup thanks to a Paul Scholes wonderstrike from 30 yards.

All season Man Utd fans have been shouting “shoot” only for Scholesy to play a pass to someone else or dink the ball into the air which has become tiresome for 2 reasons, 1 is that Man Utd are useless in the air and 2, Scholes has a fantastic shot on him from range – well he turned back the clock and pulled something from the turn of the millenium out of the top drawer for what could well be the most important strike of his entire career… and what a strike.

Ronaldo ran through the middle, beating a couple of players before getting tackled by Zambrotta, Ronaldo forced him into a rash pass backwards across his own back four, where Scholes picked the ball up, took a touch and then unleashed from 30 yards into the opposite top corner.

Unfortunately it took the imputus off us in terms of attacking, where we took the nervy approach of trying to hold out for 75 minutes. We did defend incredibly well though with Ferdinand cementing his place as the best Center-Back in the world and Wes Brown having the best performance of his career. Everyone worked hard, Tevez was an absolute machine, Park had the heart of a lion and Evra wasn’t afraid of putting his foot in despite the knowledge that a booking would seal his fate of missing the final – and all without the injured Wayne Rooney.

Now we’ve guaranteed our place in Moscow alongside either Chelsea or Liverpool, neither of which I really fear, but both of which are capable of beating us… who do I want? Probably Chelsea. Chelsea are undoubtedly a harder prospect but could you imagine losing to Liverpool?

That would be the worst thing ever!
