He’s back and fit for our (Manchester United) game against Dynamo Kiev.
Probably the best defender in the world at the moment, he would be a massive miss to any team. Fortunately we only missed him for 1/2 the Wigan game and the Aston Villa game. It’s no coincidence that the first game without him we conceeded a goal (in the air no less). Thankfully he’ll be back mid-week and hopefully starting.
He injured himself after trying to make Marcus Bents head explode and causing himself a concussion, however I don’t think he was ever worried. In fact, this quote I read sums him up perfectly:
“Vidic isn’t worried about his blurred vision, it gives him twice as many things to destroy!”
A legend in the making and the best consistently performing CB we’ve had since the days of Dolly and Daisy.

Certainly is a class defender, after our performance last night, we desperately need to borrow him.
You really could. I always said Spurs looked suspect defensively and quite a weak CB partnership most of the time.
Dawson regularly makes mistakes, but I really can’t understand why he’s continually named. Rocha is pretty good, he always stood out whenever we played against him in Europe.
The real problem is Spurs’ horrible midfield which has looked incredibly weak since Davids left. For the money spent on that ‘unit’ it’s frightning. Malbranque, Tainio, Jenas, Zokora, Routledge and Ghaly aren’t good enough for a team that are supposedly challenging for Europe.
I’m also not a big fan of Lennon, but that’s another matter because he is good enough. I also really like Huddlestone, but he’s not ready yet.
When you have a midfield like that it’s easy to get through to your defence and that’s when there are problems.
Couldn’t agree more. Dawson has been touted as a very good defender, and last season he was very good, I cannot help but think it was because he had King alongside him. If thats the case, then he needs to hurry back.
The midfield is very weak, Huddlestone I agree is a class act, and will be a very good player in the future. Lennon is good enough, but still lacks the end product, its all right having his pace, but its worthless if you don’t get the end product we really need.
As for the rest, its limited, Tainio, Zokora and Ghaly are not good enough, Routledge hasn’t really had the chance, but cannot see him being good enough either. Taarabt looks a talent, but he is not yet ready for the first team.
I won’t even get started on Defoe. We so need him and Jol to patch up their differences, as Bent just doesn’t seem capable.
