For those who didn’t know, I have been working on my University Final Year project since December 2006 for it’s hand-in on April 30th.. or so I thought… my friend called me yesterday (who thought the same) and said that he’d found a form online that said it’s hand-in date was 28th March 2007… over a month earlier and more importantly, less than 2 weeks away.
My model is practically finished modelling wise, however it’s totally untextured and I haven’t even started my 10,000 word dissertation.. only 2 days ago I counted that rendering on 1 machine would take over 6 weeks at the settings I wanted to use too. To say I’m shitting kittens is an understatement. I am now using Total Textures and Evermotion Textures along with some I have made myself due to time constraints, I’m gutted. The end result is I am not getting the grade I wanted, nor is it going to be the quality of work I wanted… after Uni I will continue working on it though to build my portfolio, I’m hoping this is the project that will land me a decent job.
As a result I have requested a suspension from OcUK so that there is no point browsing the forums I am also hoping my friend will take my Xbox360 and Toshiba 32WLT66 TV off me to minimize the distractions. As a result don’t be expecting many/any posts until the 28th March. Sorry
.
Love you all,
Karl.

That sucks
I’d be livid if it was me! Hope you manage to get a decent grade for it even though you’ve got to rush it now.
re your comment, I didn’t realise that, bit odd though as we both played worms afterwards and had no lag at all :s I just assumed it was hosted on EA servers because iirc it was the case with original x-box live games.
I’ll put it down to a quirk somewhere along the lines, still a crap game though
Thanks, I’m papping it now like, though my model is miles on from what was originally posted on here. The texturing caught me out last year too, I handed in an untextured modelling project and wasn’t too happy about it, though in my defence, this was proposed as an modelled environment for an early beta release so that I had a loophole for anything like this.
Ouch that sucks. No chance of stealing a bunch of uni machines to farm the rendering work?
Good luck. I was in a similar situation in my final year, but not because I mis-read the date, but because I was lazy
I have a few friends willing to do some of my rendering for me, the problems getting it all done first.
We do have a render farm at Uni, just not with Max 9.0.
