05JunGames Futures

As promised, here’s my games futures project. This was my final ever hand-in (hopefully) for University and should hopefully seal my Games Design degree and a job in the gaming industry making games for all of you!

Anyway, the purpose of Games Futures was to write a 4,000 word report on … well, anything we deemed. Due to a post I made on Overclockers in November of 2005 where I predicted the future outcome of the ‘Next Gen’ race of consoles (which is currently perfectly on track :p) I opted to write mine in regards to ‘Next Generation’ gaming (I’m getting really fucking sick of typing that – over 25,000 words in 9 weeks across 5 reports and all have mentioned it) as, despite sick of typing it, the topic is generally quite interesting.

For a twist however I opted to write mine in regards to the cost to the home user, the business and what it means to the casual gamer. Unfortunately the word limit was just that… limitting, I personally don’t understand it, we are supposed to be challenged with reports at University, then we are limitted by what we can write… what is the purpose of it? Lazy teachers having to read them is my guess.

Anyway, you can download it here:

I appologise with the lack of images on this site as of late… little too much text for my likings. I’ll get some on soon.
