29JulBack in the swing

I’m sure many of you know from some rantings on MSN, but for an entire week I was basically kicked out of my bedroom during which period my Uncle and his two kids (my Dutch cousins) moved in. My cousins aren’t really the best social bunch, in fact I think I spoke to Zoe (8 years old) about twice in a week as she very rarely speaks (certainly rarely in English) and Cameron (10 years old) just sat in my room playing games, mainly Rock Band drums, which are sadly a little bit broken now, but still work.

As a result they had my living space and all that was in it as they aren’t aware of the cost of electricity or ettiquettes yet, so played both at the same time, often leaving the house and leaving all these on… kids eh? :p. So for a week I was without my PC (Internet, e-mail, MSN), Xbox360, PS3, DVD’s, books or even a bed… The reason for a lack of TV or bed, even though we have another TV downstairs and a 3rd bedroom was because along with my 2 Dutch cousings and Uncle we had my Gran and another cousin, Dennis, a 4-year old Frenchy, who was the complete opposite to Cameron and Zoe, was here for 2 weeks and liked watching cartoons on the TV downstairs. Throughout this time I was sleeping on a couch in the back room.

Thankfully my days weren’t totally boring, I was at a class called ‘Fit 4 Work’ as part of New Deal on Job Seekers which had possibly the largest group of completely stupid and moronic people I’ve ever met in my life, I’m not joking when I say my faith in humanity has reduced even further, if you were to add a cumulative total of IQ’s in the room of fellow 18-24 year olds I would be shocked if it made 140. This was a two week course and contained some of the most mind-numbingly easy work I’ve ever done, repeating a lot of what I did throughout School, College and again in University such as CV building, Speculative Letter writing, Covering Letter writing, Job Searching techniques, Interview techniques etc… As a result I did every single piece of required work first time, every time and within 30 minutes for the longest of tasks – Despite this you have to sit for 30 hours a week logged in signing in and signing out times and reported back to the Job Center, this often resulted in me sitting around for 3-4 hours a day, the rest of that time was work (for about an hour a day maximum) and breaks which quite comically involved 15 minutes in the morning, an hour for dinner and 15 minutes in the afternoon… yes, like School and something I’ve not had for over 8 years, but even that was too tough going for some of the people on this course… However I don’t want to be too petty, so I’ll stop complaining about the stupid things they said, some which had me in stitches and shock in equal measure.

Doing this course from 9.30am to 3.30pm daily meant I wasn’t sat around the house for 6 hours watching Disney Playhouse with Dennis, so that was fine by me. It also gave me an excuse to get some fitness work done to and from the course… So it had some positive elements to it. By the end of the course I was the only one there on the last day, others had been removed due to lack of attendence, others left because it was clearly too much of a drain on their hectic daytime TV schedules… Maybe they really like Jeremy Kyle?

So here I am, back in the swing of things and writing my first update in 19 days (sorry about that), but just for you there are a few more things to come today I hope.

Lol at being the only one there at the end of it. They sound like a fantastic bunch of people :p
You’ve had a scary amount of relatives visiting! Then again I like to keep my distance from my ones ;)
