17FebPortfolio Site Ready to Go Live… Almost

I’ve recently knocked up a website which I’m going to use for showing my portfolio work as I’d like to keep my blog and my portfolio seperate, one for personal, one for professional kind of thing. It’s nothing fancy, it’s actually rather plain and uses my favourite colour combinations of monochrome +red, I figure it’s best to let my 3D work (and possibly sketches and 2D work) do the talking. I will also keep a WIP diary so you can see my projects step-by-step which will hopefully not only inspire other people to model, but also to inspire me to finish bloody projects quicker :p.

I’d like to thank Paul here, most will know him as ‘TheSniperGecko’ who added a php news post for my portfolio which makes it a lot easier for me to update it without constantly uploading a new html file, you’re a star and it’s much appreciated.

I think I’ll eventually have the address of this blog going to my portfolio and buy another web-address for my blog, any ideas for a URL would be kindly accepted, I’m currently thinking “nokkonsblog.com”, but if anyone can think of anything witty, amusing are smarter it would be much appreciated.

Please feel free to visit the site at:
http://www.nokkonwud.com/beta/

I will post news of portfolio updates on this blog so you’ll know when work is done for those kind readers who keep checking back. Love ya!

10Feb50th Anniversary & Manchester Derby

Tomorrow is the Manchester derby and the first match after the 50th anniversary of the tragic Munich air disaster which claimed the life of 23 people and ravaged Manchester Uniteds ‘Busby Babes’.

50th Anniversary Munich

I’m fortunate enough to be in attendance tomorrow and hopefully it’s a result fitting of the occasion.

07FebReaper

Reaper

I hope you’ve all been watching Reaper, and if not, why not?
It’s just had its 3rd episode this week on e4 (Channel 4′s superior Brother) and so far all 3 episodes have been bloody brilliant. It’s interesting, funny and has a great concept, so it ticks all the right boxes straight away. The concept of the show is:

Throughout Sam’s life, he always wondered why his mom and dad were so easy on him. Whether it was sports, school, career choices, or picking on his little brother Kyle, Sam always got away with everything. Because of it, he decided to drop out of college and take a dead beat job, wasting most of his time playing video games and wishing he could ask his co-worker Andi out. However, everything changes in Sam’s life once he turns 21 and finds out the reason his parents let him get over was because they sold his soul to the devil before he was born.

Satan explains to Sam that he must serve as his bounty hunter, tracking down souls that have escaped from Hell. Initially, Sam refuses to accept his fate but he realizes the grave consequences of breaking a deal with the devil. He is armed with various vessels to collect the escapees. Sam finds that the work is dangerous and frightening even with the goof ball help of his friends and fellow slackers Sock and Ben, and Sock’s former girlfriend, Josie. As bizarre as his life becomes, Sam feels good about his newfound “missions”, removing evil souls from the world and sending them back to where they belong. Along with his friends and his vessel of the week, Sam prepares to face his destiny as the “reaper”.

So I hope you’ll all join me in watching it.
Reaper is shown Wednesdays at 9pm, or 10pm on e4 +1.
