This is definitely the slowest week ever for achievements as I recently borrowed Football Manager 2006 back from my mate to continue my game save. I swear I’ll be an old man before I get all the SP achievements in this
. It’s still brilliant though. Basically it’s all I’ve been playing, though there was a little dalliance with Lost Planet which sadly is one of the most infuriating games I’ve ever played. I wouldn’t mind if the little fucker could stay on his feet!
The bonus of playing Football Manager is that it’s very easy to watch a TV show.. or a few whilst you play, so I’ve continued my X-Files marathon where I currently stand at Season 4 episode 11! I can’t believe I’ve watched 83 episodes in such a short time! It’s still brilliant too, infact, some of the episodes I’ve just watched are even better than I remember them! The number of now accomplished actors I’ve seen in the past episodes of X-Files has taken my by surprise too, I am thinking of making a post regarding this in the future. I’ll probably make an article section made specifically for rants at anything… most things most likely, and almost definitely on a regular occurance regarding football :p.
Anywho… achievements…
Well, for the last 3 days (not inclusive of today) I’ve been playing FM2006 none stop pretty much. This is my mates game on the Xbox360 that I borrowed last in October 2006, wanting to play it again with the current football season approaching I re-borrowed it and as a result any semblance of a life I had left went out with it… again. I always seem to forget JUST how addictive it is, no wonder it’s the cause of divorces etc..
If any of you are wondering why I am playing 2006 instead of 2007 it’s purely because I had already started a season in 2006… and because no one I know owns 2007 :p.
I’ve currently got a pretty strong squad for Man Utd through legitimate means, though I am also managing AC Milan (Italy), Lyon (France) and Munich (German) for the 5 different leages achievement (I’ve already done Spain). I’m also managing Brazil and England
. Eventually when I have the foreign seasons won I will do some dodgy deals (Juninho Pernumbacano, Kaka, Kompany, Pirlo, Shevchenko and Dida are being eyed up at the moment :p).
Legitimately I have signed Anderson, Messi, Tevez, Guarin, Zigic for Man Utd and Kompany for Munich.
Anyway, I’m going back to my game, ciao!

I forgot just how bloody brilliant the X-Files is, last year I spent over £120 in order to procure the entire collection of X-Files from Season 1 (1993) to Season 9 (2001) and I recently started to re-watch the entire series and I must say I honestly forgot just how awesome it is… it has everything, great stories, good acting, excellent characters, it must be one of the most influential TV shows of all time… after all, how many Science Fiction shows other than The Twilight Zone in the past were there on TV compared to now?
I recommend you all re-watch them given the chance.
Oh, and by way of random search, a Google image search of ‘The Truth is Out There’ brought out This Little Gem.
Well, after the good news of getting my BA degree it’s back down to earth and time to write my wednesday achievement update. It actually feels quite good to have something updated weekly on a cycle now, it’s my time to brag as well as giving me something else to do.
I’ve not gotten any new rentals, so I’ve tried finishing off those that I have played in the past. I thought I’d have played Crackdown or Lost Planet but still nothing… oh well.
This week I’ve been watching the X-Files, a show I haven’t watched in around a decade, so it’s nice being able to go back through season 1 without remembering anything, I forgot just how amazingly awesome this show was. Other than perhaps ‘The Twilight Zone’ this has to be the most influential science fiction show of all time, led by David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson in their strongest roles. Plus I’d forgot just how sexy Gillian Anderson was, she’s not gorgeous… just sexy.
I am now a BA, w00 hoo.
I got my degree
Overall I’m not too happy with what I got (2:2), but it was what I was expecting as I have had very little attendance to Uni in the last 2 years due to transportational issues and monetary issues and the house move right at the key moment (which then made transport impossible) was a real stumbling block, but I don’t really care, I have faith that my portfolio speaks volumes, especially as most of my course was friggin’ reports rather than designs.
Almost a month of weekly updates! The odd thing this week is that I haven’t really been playing any games for any length of time, however I did come across a gem of a game called ‘The Darkness’. Now, this is a game I’ve wanted for a while, all the way through production in fact, but the closer it got to its release the more I started to distance myself from it as it looked no more than average, which was a shame. None the less I added it to my SwapGame rental queue and amazingly it was sent straight away. Much like DiRT it was an unused game, completely free of any fingerprints, scratches or general use marks… bonus! Anyway, I loved it, I will almost certainly write a review up about it at some point or other, but I wouldn’t expect it any time soon, I’m very… very lazy at the moment.
Anywho, sorry about the lateness of this post, the idea is that it’s posted on Wednesdays, I’ll make sure it is next week.
